There are very few experiences in life that can grab your attention instantly, and make you feel so good as something you deem to be funny, I find it even more interesting, the wide range of instances, and experiences that we seem to find humor in.
Could it be that we thirst for a good laugh, you know a real laugh, and in just for a moment or two we are completely encapsulated in the sheer pleasure of spontaneous laughter, we use such bursts of energy in doing so that often we're left drained, in a calm submissive state, and for a short time following a good humorous laugh, we emotionally, and physically are completely relaxed, what a great feeling.
Show me someone that finds a bit of humor in everyday occurrences in life, and you will find this person to be calm, and adaptable in a wide range of experiences he, or she encounters throughout their day, they often face change with an inquisitive smile, almost looking for the pleasure in their next experience.
To see humor to some degree, even in a so called bad experience, somehow lightens the negative side of the experience, and sometime the anxiety felt when one finds themselves in an uncomfortable situation, say the classic slip and fall, of course there is nothing funny about someone being hurt, though the abrupt stop to the normalcy of smoothly walking along somehow brings out spontaneous laughter in those who have caught the event.
Even those of whom are helping the person up off of the floor are engulfed in laughter, or doing their best to hold it back while asking what had happened, and if the person is alright. And with that kind of humor, I feel it to be the beginning of recovery of a bad situation.
Laughter does indeed make us feel good, and with the responsibility of a busy day, I believe it can actually be the key to avoiding the anxiety we may otherwise feel when life becomes a bit overwhelming.
So yes, a good dose or two of humor in our everyday lives can be a day well lived, so keep smiling, and at least a couple times a day enjoy a good laugh, even if it seems to be about you. We know our humor is intact when we can see the funny side of our own acts, and I actually enjoy giving someone a good laugh, I feel as though I have shared a little joy with another.
I can't really imagine a day without laughter, take a look around, even in nature you can find humor, watching the cat in the backyard sneaking so attentively upon the birds that he'll never catch, and the laughter you'll experience watching him try again, and again.
Just to see children being silly and laughing at what seems like nothing to you, can bring on a good laugh even to the point of tears rolling down your cheeks from laughing so hard.
Humor can without a doubt make your day.
