There are a lot of reasons to dye your hair. Some people don't like their natural hair color and some people just want to get some highlights. But after you get them you have to take care of the unnatural color in your hair along with your own hair. Just think for a moment and ask yourself "is my hair so ugly and unworthy that i want to damage it more ?". The answer should be "no" you do not want to damage your own hair. A lot of times the harsh chemicals in dye dry out your hair and damage your hair and natural hair color even more.
Isn't it much different when you have gray hair ? You once had brown or blonde or black or red hair. And you want it back or in other words you don't want to be considered old. All the supermodels have the most beautiful flowing, shiny hair ever and let's face it you've got to have it, right ? Actually no you do not have to have supermodel hair. Getting extensions, whether they're clip ons or are built into your hair would be safer and easier on your hair. Even if that means paying 80 or more dollars. If that's too much money then go ahead and get a wig, most are cheaper and even safer. But one thing and key thing to remember is to make it look natural or like real hair. There are several reasons not to dye your hair EVEN when it's gray. For example why would you dye it if by chance there are other options or as i like to say solutions. Another reason is that the dye only damages your hair more and the color only lasts a couple of months usually.
Next thing you're going to wonder is "what about the dye that says on the label -no damage- ?" And my answer is NO do not buy that type either because it will with a 99% chance still damage your hair. In other words someone who NEVER has dyed or highlighted their hair probably have better hair than someone who highlights or dyes their hair on a daily basis. The question now that you have to ask yourself is "what is my decision ?" or "should i dye my hair because i don't like the color or it's gray ?". I'll let you make that decision but the answer should be "no" to more damage. Kids' and teens' even if all your friends and peers are highlighting their hair doesn't mean you have to. Just keep in mind those friends' and peers' might have amazing hair right now but wait like 40 or possibly less yrs and see what their hair looks like then. My point is don't ruin your hair and be able to know what your hair can and CAN'T handle.
