How to get free marketing and advertising exposure for your restaurant

If you run a restaurant, you need to understand this very clearly. As long as your food is great, your service is good and prices are not too high, customers will always patronize you. There may be a lot of restaurants out there but the ones that really know what they are doing are very few.

Having said this, it does not quite follow that a restaurant can survive without advertising. Every business needs some form of advertising or the other. This will ensure that you continue to remain in business. This will also ensure continue to make progress in your line of business. After all, if your competitors are advertising, you have to advertise as well.

Unfortunately, advertising does not come cheap. The trick therefore is to find a form of advertising that will not cost you an arm and a foot. It is a common business practice to use what you have to get what you need. Therefore, the first step is the most obvious one.

Serve Free Food:

Yes! Serve free food to some of your very early customers. Make sure the food is really palatable and they will always come back for more. Meanwhile, you have begun a very powerful advert campaign with this simple gesture. The beneficiaries of the said free food will tell other people. Those other people will tell others as well and before you know it, your customer base will begin to grow in leaps and bounds.

Print Fliers:

It also makes sense for you to print some fliers and distribute them in very strategic locations and public places. Remember that if prospective customers don't know about you, they cannot patronize you. Therefore, have your fliers in pubs, internet cafes and the like. This is a great way to give your business exposure without spending a lot of money.

Use the Radio:

Radio adverts are very cheap and, in some cases, practically free. So, you can use this great opportunity to promote your business as well. You can even go the extra mile and take part in a radio program that has to do with food and nutrition. This is a great coup for your business because you are, in effect, killing two birds with one stone.

Run Promotions:

You probably assume that only blue chip companies can run a promotion right? Well, you're wrong. Even in your own small or medium sized restaurant, you can run a promotion as well. Find an excuse to reward your very loyal customers, give event a lot of publicity and make people aware of what you are doing. This will ensure that customers remain loyal to you. It will also serve to bring you new customers as well.

So, as you can clearly see, you can get practically free marketing and advertising publicity for your business. All you need is a bit of innovation and creative thinking.
