Poetry: I never knew

by JRR

There are so many things

That I never knew

Until the blessed day

I met you

I never knew it was possible

To trust someone completely

To know without a doubt

You would never betray me

I never knew one man's voice

Could always make me smile

That it would feel like a gentle carress

Even across the miles

I never knew I could feel safe

Protected from danger and pain

Never again having tears of hurt

Falling like rain

I never knew it was possible

To love someone so much

My heart filled to over-flowing

With a love no one can touch

There are so many things you have shown me

That I never knew existed

Feelings we won't fully comprehend

Until that first kiss

I never knew a man like you

Could actually be real

Amazing beyond description

Sharing everything I feel

I never knew what it was like

To finally feel complete

To find the piece that was missing

No one else could ever compete

I never knew it was possible

To share a love so complete and true

To need and want someone

As I need and want you

Until that blessed day

You came into my life

I never knew how wonderful life could be

Until I had the honor of becoming your wife

    I never saw

    A single bruise

    Or saw the violence

    He

    I never knew.
You were in love with me.
You have to share those things.
    I never knew.
You should have talked to me.
    I never knew.
