"Are we there yet? are we there yet?" exclaimed Becca in her excited four year old voice.
"For heaven sakes Becca, you just ask that five minutes ago!" exclaimed Jacob, Becca's big brother.
"It want be much longer now honey," said Mommy. Becca was very excited to be going to the beach today! This was not just any beach, this was Becca's favorite beach.
You see Becca lives in Florida, and Florida has many beaches, but only one very special beach, Cape San Blas. This is Becca's favorite beach because there are so many different creatures to see there.
"Okay everyone, look straight ahead, what do you see?" asked Dad.
"It's the ocean, I see the beach!" shouted Becca.
As the family pulled onto the small island of Cape San Blas, they could see emerald green waters and waves splashing ashore.
"We'll put the boat in the water at the state park down the road," said Dad.
The roads inside the park area were surrounded by sand dunes, scrub and longleaf pines. Finally Becca's family made it to the boat ramp which was located towards the end of the island.
As Dad backed the boat into the water, Becca's imagination soared. She remembered all the fun they had at their last visit to the Cape and couldn't wait for some more adventures. Dad finally monuvered the boat into the correct position and off they went. Becca loved riding in the boat, the ocean breeze felt so nice, and it was a gorgeous sunny day. Becca could not wait to see all her favorite creatures around the island.
First stop, would be hermit crab beach. This was a beautiful part of the island located on the bay, where there
were at least a million hermit crab. As Dad anchored the boat, you could see all the crab scatter.
"Can I pick one up Dad?" asked Becca.
"Why don't we just watch these interesting little creatures Becca?" stated Dad, "We don't want to scare them," he said.
Becca so wanted to pick one of these little beauties up, but was kind of scared of a pinch!
As they were walking along the shore of hermit crab beach, Jacob spotted many interesting shells.
"Can we take some of these neat shells home mommy?" asked Jacob.
"Sure we can, use this bucket to put them in," said Mommy.
Jacob furiously searched for the prettiest shells. His mind imagined what he could do with them all. Maybe he could
make his mom a beautiful shell lamp, or maybe give his grandmother one for her porch. He maybe could even make jewelry
out of these shells and sell them for lots
