They say I am about to leave you in the midst of all despair
But, they said that a few months ago when I lost my hair.
Don't think about the times ahead: yet to come
but remember the last time we wanted some
time together.
We walked along the beach when our daughter left for college
and bought that old car that had way to much mileage.
But, she was on her own and wanted to be grown up
That is when we bought that yellow pup
that healed our broken hearts.
Remember the fights and all the tears
they cannot make up for all the years
And then came some gruesome fears.
Soon you will be alone that is a fact
But please don't remember me like that.
I am still here.
