Why a man cries, an excellent question,
Not from pain or joy or haunting fear;
Nor does economy or social testing,
Bring masculinity to shed a streaming tear.
So we ask ourselves what can it be,
That brings a glistening to the manly eye;
If not by substance we can see,
What could possibly be the reason why?
As one of the gender I know the answer,
I'll share it with you at little cost;
Tis a simple thing that brings the manner,
A simple thing called loss.
Loss of pride, loss of life, loss of a loving friend,
The loss of a child leaving the nest;
The loss of a true love that has no end,
These things that make us cry the best.
Loss of control is oft the reason why,
Or the loss of a hand to hold;
These are the things that make us cry,
At least that's what I'm told.

About his where bouts he lies

That familiar cry
