Reflections: My greatest accomplishments

Hmm...let's see...I was in Honor Roll, kept good grades, volunteered a little, everyone can say they accomplished something. There's just one thing bugging me inside, what makes it a great accomplishment, though? In an interview, one of the scary questions is: so what's your greatest accomplishment? That's pressuring. If it's not rewarded by a respected organization, it doesn't count much? What if you never knew that? What if you were just a kid who wanted to just grow up? There's different classes of accomplishments?! Now I'm just freaking out, let me start over.

Even though I'm still in High School and have the whole world in front of me, little normal old me has been through a lot to be who I am. Not everything, just a lot. When I look back at what I did up to now, I wonder. What are my great accomplishments? Sure I never had trouble in school (not including the effort put in the assignments), but to me that's what I'm supposed to do. That isn't..."great." Besides school and home, I never did much in the "out of this world" category. The day was just a law of the jungle survival type. Hey, I had two toddler siblings you know. Yep, that's what's bugging me. No, not the siblings part...I think. It's just that in the category of famous and trophies-granting great achievements, I was in the dark. Now that all the self consciousness is out, there are a few little things that I personally call a great achievement - even if NASA didn't award me for them.

I love drawing, so the fact that I've finished my "perfect" picture makes me really proud. I also was afraid of the dark, centipedes, heights, and splattering oil - don't ask. I got over running to bed at night (I'm actually quite comfortable with the dark now), I killed a centipede on my own, I climbed a rock wall over and over (it was fun), and now I'm experimenting with learning to fry foods. I feel more complete when I got over my fears. There are a bunch of other things, but I'm thinking, since I didn't win the science fair or anything, what would I say to that one question. You know, the one about great accomplishments in paragraph one? So, if I went to an interview right now and answered, "I can sleep at night, oh, and I killed a centipede and will do it again!" I wonder if I would still get the job...well, they asked...Hypothetically of course. If I wanted a job. Since it would be important to have...

Great! Now I'm thinking about that, too! Just when I feel I got one issue down, here comes another. Then again, if I didn't have much issues, what would I accomplish?
