Assessing the Bible

The Holy Bible has been the top seller of all books on the market throughout history. Its popularity is not because it is filled with myths and fables as some suppose, and would like to make others believe. The people who live within these covers of the Bible were real people with many faults just like the rest of us, and the wars, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the Temple at Jerusalem and other events are recorded Jewish history that you can find in historical writings such as, Josephus Flavius, who was a Jewish historian.

Reading the lineage of Jesus you see that he is traced all the way back to Adam and Eve. This is true of many of the people mentioned in the Bible, as they seemed to take great pride in their family tree and kept perfect records.

Modern history and archeology have revealed Noah's ark and Biblical places to be authentic. Dead Sea Scrolls containing the Bible and many other writings including The Book of Enoch have been found in caves in Qumran where they have been preserved for a thousand plus years. Some of the writings date from the third century B.C.E. And when you see the signs written of in the Bible that are in evidence today you would have to deliberately close your eyes to believe the Bible to be false.

As well as telling us what has happened since the beginning of creation the Bible also predicts what will happen in the future. There is no denying that looking back on the past, things happened just as God said they would. As His word never changes, we who study the Bible see events unfolding today, exactly as the word of God said they would.

This book of instructions given by a loving God for man to live by has an answer to ever problem we may face in life. Typically, however, most of us never read instructions until all else fails, but those who did, and do follow instructions go successfully through life and even have the promise of eternal life, while others struggle along on their way to destruction, for the Bible declares there are two roads set before us and which one we follow is out own choice.

Reading about the lives of those in the Bible such as Sampson, David, Samuel and others, we see the blessings they received when living in obedience to God and the problems they faced when they sinned and stepped out from under the protection of God. We also see their joy at forgiveness.

For the lonely, the heartbroken, the sick, the sinner, the despairing, and those seeking God this book offers hope, love, happiness, forgiveness, and as you sincerely read these living words of the Bible you are touched by the presence of Holy Spirit and the reality of God.

For those who have their own philosophy already set in stone in their minds and heart, they will probably find nothing but something to argue and debate over, for it is only through faith that you can find, or please God.
