Sepulchre
I lie in wait
for my soul to move on
at times I'm pensive
at other times
I'm not
My soul is aching
and at times I'm at peace
I'm tired of the ones who seek me out
talking to me, patronizing me,
in awe of what they don't know
and in awe of what they do know.
I've been here for awhile
I think a year
Someone mentioned my anniversary
of my demise is coming soon
maybe tomorrow
The moon is full
I want to move on
I'm lonely
I have only myself
to care for
At times I walk the house
searching for a doorway
a doorway to Heaven
At other times I walk
the woodland at peace
with Nature
Nature is perfect, it's peaceful
The animals know I'm there
they appreciate my visits
They understand my lonliness
They are very wise in their simplicity.
Maybe I'll go home tomorrow
It depends on me and my God
It depends on me to make it happen
I have the choice
but I still cling to the present world
in its shimmering light and occasional
darkness.
I'll miss it
I have tried to tell the ones who seek
me out what happens when you die
but they still don't believe
they are still doubtful
they still seek credibility
Even with a thousand pieces of proof,
they will never truly believe
that energy just changes.
it's always there seeking out
others and trying to touch the ones
that love them and mourn them
the ones who won't let go
prevent me from going
It's that simple.
I will leave another message
in this dank sepulchre
The message is to live, to love,
and be at peace with your life,
and if you can do that, then
your memory will go on
Then you can move on
with another purpose in mind.

Lost in the dark
I can’t find my way
An unbeaten path
My journey did stray
The road grim and narrow
An endless abyss
by Art Heberger
Enveloped by darkness I had nowhere to turn
Tried to fight back all the shadows that churned
I stumbled and faltered and
In the shadows of my mind are dark corners where mysteries abound and symbols tell the tale of a life ill-spent,
O this is a strange world indeed!
All the inhabitants walk in darkness -
in Great Darkness!
They're like the blind cave fish
Lost in a world of darkness
A house that’s full of people and love
Yet I am alone and afraid.
Family and friends tell
