Everything I Am
A shadow passes my window
And you come rushing back
Through the shutters of my mind.
I thought they'd been locked,
Sealed against this intrusion.
Not even love songs made me cry.
Shadows were all I could be,
Are everything I am today...
Flat and featureless in black
Someone not quite remembered,
Sad girl with wild eyes
Who was only an illusion.
