How to fight the blues in your everyday life

Life has been a real roller coaster. I have had so many ups and downs it's a wonder that I knew what I was doing half the time. Yet, it's all these ups and downs in life that have made me the better and stronger person I am today. I write this article of fighting the blues of everyday life because of the life I've lived and the success found by managing the blues.

The number one rule of surviving the blues is to remember that you make your own life. Your choices determine your outcome. Don't waste time blaming others, but be willing to take the blame, learn from it and move on to your next challenge. If you learn from a mistake or bad choice, then it wasn't a bad thing but a learning experience for you. Every time you make a mistake and learn from it you become a little wiser and a little stronger.

Don't look back. Once you've been there, move forward. Remember one important rule! This is your life and it's up to you to make it the best life possible. Do NOT depend on others to make you happy. You must take control of your feelings and make the ones that work for you. Using this rule on a really bad day is a MUST! You are important so be good to yourself.

Each day is going to be an adventure. Sure, you're going to make wrong decisions and take steps backwards! Who doesn't! That's part of life and the sooner you realize that and move forward the happier you're going to be. I hope you don't lose as many years as I did making the wrong decisions but if you do, remember that I still came out in the end very happy.

Never look at life as "everyday" as indicated by the title of this article of fighting blues in your everyday life. Each day is special because it's your day. You can wake up each morning and think this is just another day or wake up thinking this is another great day in my life. You're alive and you're going to go out there and make the most of what's presented to you that day. Keep a smile, a real smile, on that face because this is your day.

Talk about smiling; don't forget that poor guy over there that everyone else overlooks. Smile at the stranger. Hold your arms open wide and look up at the sky and say, 'Come On World", I'm ready for you. Your outlook on the day will effect how the day will go for you. You have the control. You can react to situations or you can act and create situations. You must take control of your life to achieve the goals. Do not sit and wait for the opportunities to arise but go out and find them.

Learn to enjoy the blues. Wrap your arms around those tough days and tell yourself "I Will Survive". Those blues are there to strengthen you or break you. Don't let the blues break you but make you stronger. You should not be afraid to let yourself have the blues but know that you are allowing the blues in your life that day and not the other way around. We all need a good self pity day occasionally so when you have one, don't feel guilty but enjoy it that day and then forge ahead and put it in its place.

You'll never reach all your dreams and that's a good thing. Always reaching for a dream or goals will help keep each day special and help to fight the blues. Without dreams and goals it would be easy for everyday life to start to rule your life. So, I say in closing, keep the dreams alive and you will survive the blues of everyday life.
