Making money in Runescape on a free sever is hard, but can be done if you just know what you are doing. I am going to tell you a couple of ways to make you money to like 500,000 and then some tips on merchanting.

First I will give will give you some tips for mining so if mining is not for you skip this paragraph. First for level 1 to 15 just mine copper and tin and bank if you want (good if you want to smelt later on). If banking then smelt them and make amour and sell the general store as who wants bronze amour. From level 15 and up I recommend just mining iron as it is best the xp. Here you can smelt iron or sell it but it is recommend that you do bank it. Always try to have the best axe you can as of course it will be faster. If you have stayed true and got to 60 well done; now go to the mining guild with a rune pick axe and coal till you drop as you will be near a bank and the mining guild is coal heaven. Now train and make money with other skills or skip till my merchanting.

Fishing can be slow at first but when you get to 50 plus it can be great. This is going to fast and simple small net fish until you can fly fish. Now get feathers by killing chickens or finding money and buying them, now just fish with fly fishing you should make money. Now when you get to 50 or 40 if you are inpatient start lobster fishing, yes I know its a long way from the bank but it is the best way to make money fishing; or you could just sell to the general store. Now train and make money with other skills or skip till my merchanting.

This requires no skill but is very boring, find 14 buckets and as many clay as you can. Now Find a water source near a bank and just take 14 buckets and 14 clay and make soft clay, go back get 14 clay out and repeat. Now we have soft clay that will sell for more money you can do this over and over and makes lots of money but is it very boring.

Yes I know there is woodcutting but it is very hard and your really need to be level 70 plus to make any money from woodcutting unless fletching but this is a free to play tips so it had been skipped.

Know I hope you have over 500k and are ready to go in to the world of merchanting but I can not give you any items as they are always changing but on Runescape website and look at the prices, most runes like air, fire and law jump around if they at a all time low for the last 30 days buy as many as you can with half your money. Buy for mid to max but have sure you keep a record of the price you paid now wait a couple of weeks or some times day and if the prices raises around 3 to 5gp sell them all for around 3gp profit and just leave them yes it takes a while but when done with like 10 million you make like 2 million. There is not a lot to say for the bigger items they are really the same apart from it needs to be more and than a couple of gp as you will only have a couple. Also try a merchanting clan they can make millions a week if you are loyal to them.
