Nashville Tennessee isn't just all about music. There are many attractions such as the Grand Ole Opry as well as almost 20 colleges and universities. Nashville is known as the country music capital of the world. Live music can be heard in clubs and bars, as well as several various locations throughout the city almost every night of the week.
Though live music is not the only form of entertainment, you have dance clubs, sports bars, coffee houses, dinner theaters and comedy clubs throughout the city, as well as several shopping malls. When visiting during the warmer months you are bound to find more to do than any other time of the year.
You can visit the Zoo, museums, parks, as well as amusement parks. There are many things to do in Nashville during the summer months.
~Nashville Zoo. The Nashville Zoo is located just south of downtown at Grassmere. At the zoo you will see Bengal Tigers, a Eurasian Lynx exhibit, Alligators, Rhinoceros' and many other animals. The Nashville Zoo also has some of the rarest animals around, the Clouded Leopards and the Red Pandas. The zoo is always a fun place to visit, whether you have children or not.
~Museums. There are museums for music lovers, history buffs or art lovers that will catch anyone's eye. The Country Music Hall of Fame Festival is the world's largest music museum and is worth checking out even if you aren't a country music fan. There is also the First Center for the Visual Arts which showcases a rotating schedule of top level art exhibits. There are also the Nashville Parthenon, the Fine Arts Gallery and Sarratt Gallery at Vanderbilt, and the Van Vechten and Aaron Douglas Galleries at Fisk University to name a few.
~Radnor Lake State Natural Area. Here is a park located a few miles from downtown where you can enjoy some beautiful sightseeing. There is an artificial lake located inside the park in a beautiful wooded setting. There are different trails to follow and you are bound to have a wonderful time walking through the park.
No matter what you decide you want to do while visiting Nashville Tennessee, you will always find an adventure lying ahead. It will be a memorable experience no matter what your choice may be. You can visit parks, play golf, see wildlife as well as several amusement parks located in or near downtown Nashville. Visiting Tennessee in general is an experience of a lifetime that you wouldn't want to miss for anything.
