HOW TO REVAMP YOUR LIVING ROOM TO MATCH YOUR TASTE.
The Living Room is potentially the most important room in your house (or flat). It is the room that we spend most of our time, and the room that we are most likely to entertain guests. Therefore, it's inevitable that most of us want that room to match our personality and tastes perfectly. We want something that represents a part of the person that we are, and what we stand for. But, we'd also like to do that on a budget!
Here is how you can decorate your living room with little expense or effort:
-Step One-
Pick out something arty that means something to you; this could be a picture that you or someone you love drew or painted. It could be a postcard that you like or from a place you've been to. It can even be the cover of your favourite band, or the poster for your favourite film. Anything, as long as it's flat and you like it, will be perfect!
-Step Two-
Measure the width and height of the piece of "art" that you have chosen and make a note of it.
-Step Three-
Check out your local Thrift Stores/Department Stores/online, or wherever sells frames, and buy frames that have the right size and shape for your "art".
-Step Four-
Frame your "art". Consider framing "art" that matches the colour of your room, or that matches that mood that you want to create. It's also a good idea to consider matching different pieces of "art" that compliment each other, or if you're using CD covers, are of the same band!
-Step Five-
Find someone who is willing to hold things up for you, and spend some time planning where you want the pieces to go, matching colours, tones and taking into consideration a. the size of the room and b. the amount of space you have to work with.
-Step Six-
Hang your pictures and admire your work! Potentially much cheaper than going out and buying artwork, plus it's Recycling things that you already had! Simple! And you thought it was going to be difficult!
-Tip-
Thrift Stores are perfect places to pick up Photo frames incredibly cheaply Square frames can be tough to find, so I strongly recommend looking online if you want to frame CD covers. If you're framing large posters or artwork, I strongly recommend getting the help of someone else to put them on the wall - it would be awful if you accidentally dropped it, because they can be very heavy to one person alone!
