Poetry: Lunch break

by Gresilda McDermott

Created on: July 09, 2009

Finally it is time
To walk away from the pressure
Just thirty minutes of relief
Short walk and eating the sandwich at hand
Day dreaming I am in another place
No phones
No files
No faking smiles
Breezes soft and quiet
Need a cigarette
And know its bad
But it is lunch break
Short time of freedom
And I am only the receptionist
