Poetry: Don't let the moment pass

by Eliseo Solis

Created on: July 09, 2009

What was ought to be the death of a friend
seem to be the spark of a deeper friendship.

They poured kerosene upon
any roots of any upcoming relationship.

Our purpose was to be in each other's life,
but not to have our lives eternally tied.

Where is the purpose in meeting your mother
if were to never talk again thereafter.

These responses towards the first note you written,
has your thoughts breathing and your words burning.

To her words,
I don't know if we should talk anymore
because I feel like everyone is thinking
that we like each other
so I don't know if we should talk anymore.

He responded with a statement,
that we should ride it out
and see where time takes this.

She believed that we should stop the talk
while he suggests continuing the walk.

Through the pact of silence,
we will still acknowledge
the presence of each other.

Let's always greet each other with a smile,
for the smile is the beginning of love.
