The Unluckiest Leprechaun

Once upon time there was a Leprechaun named Lucky. Despite his name, Lucky had no luck; he was considered the unluckiest leprechaun in the leprechaun kingdom. Lucky wore tattered clothes and lived in a very small cave, on the outskirts of the kingdom. Even his friends and family shunned him for reasons untold.

Now, leprechauns love when it rains, why you may ask? Well, I'll tell you. As it rains while the sun is shining, a rainbow appears and at the end of every rainbow is a glowing pot of gleaming gold. The rainbow is full of bright colors, radiant red, yowling yellow, gorgeous green, brilliant blue, and passionate purple, what a sight to behold. This sight made the leprechauns so happy; they would jump for joy whenever they saw one. But Lucky, alas, he could not jump for joy, because when his rainbow appeared, there was no pot of gold to be seen. To the people of his kingdom, he was known as foolish, too trusting, and the unluckiest leprechaun that ever lived. So how does a leprechaun become so unlucky, one might wonder. Well, as the story goes, the gold at the end of the rainbow is the leprechaun's luck, once it's gone so is their luck. Lucky never lacked luck before, in fact he always had good luck, but that was well before he had lost his pot of gold.

As a young leprechaun growing up in the leprechaun kingdom, Lucky had so many things going for him. He lived in a beautiful small one-bedroom house; which was built into the side of a hill. It was green of course, with white shudders, and a big beautiful bay window in the front. In the front yard he had a garden, in this garden there were all kinds of flowers, lilies, daises, and of course four leaf clovers. There was also a white picket fence surrounding the whole property, and painted on this fence were bright green four leaf clovers and gold coins. Inside the house the walls where painted a dark green and on these walls were pictures of Luckys' family. He had a beautiful fireplace in the living room and next to the living area was the dining room. Lucky never really used that room that much; it was only for special occasions, like holidays, birthdays, and such. He had a small kitchen and down the hallway was his bedroom. It was the perfect house for a leprechaun like Lucky.

Everyday Lucky would get up in the morning, get ready and off to work he went. He worked as a shoe maker, as did most of his family, actually his family owned
