Nature of the Beast stars Eric Roberts and Lance Henriksen. These two actors are known for their bad guy roles, and they do not disappoint in this one!

As the film opens, we see a man who has stopped at a station that is closed. After getting out of his car to check things out, he returns to his car.He finds out in a horrific way, that he has company in the back seat of his car. He is the latest victim of Hatchetman. Thus, begins a roller coaster ride of intense suspense!

Hendrickson plays, Jack, a traveling salesman with a family, who leads a rather boring life. He passes a hitchhiker this day and does not stop for him. That hitchhiker is Adrian(Dusty), an ex-con, played by Eric Roberts.

As Jack stops at a diner up the road and waits for dinner, Adrian shows up and when he sees Jack, goes straight to his table and starts up a conversation about Jack not being very neighborly for not stopping and picking him up. Jack tells Adrian he will buy him dinner to make it up. As the waitress appears at the table,(she is played by Robert's real life wife, Eliza) Adrian starts flirting with her and follows her to the cooking area. Jack figures now is a good time to make his escape and tries to ditch Adrian, but is turned around by the police, because the road is blocked off due to the recent discovery of the murder victim. Jack now has no choice but to go back where he left Adrian. On the way back, he hears over the radio, that a casino has been robbed of over 1 million dollars, and also, that the Hatchetman has struck again. He is very reluctant to go back, but he has no choice.

Later that night, the lovely waitress is found dismembered in her car with the bloody words, "Hatchetman" written on the trunk. Adrian and Jack stare at each other as the police start their investigation. Adrian follows Jack to his rented room and demands to be let in. Rather than put up with his loud banging, Jack lets him in. Adrian proceeds to shoot up heroin in the bathroom. When he appears to be in a stupor, Jack again tries to get in his car and leave, but Adrian has pulled his plugs out. Adrian stumbles out and tells Jack to get his *ss back in the room.

It ends up with Adrian telling Jack that he is going to partner with him whether he likes it or not. He threatens to call the cops. Why should that bother Jack? You see, Jack carries a briefcase everywhere he goes. And Adrian carries a duffel bag, everywhere he goes. One of these men robbed a casino of over 1 million dollars and the other?
