Things to do at the Jacksonville Landing in Jacksonville, FL

Jacksonville Landing, where there is always something going on, is the home for year-round entertainment and events; as well as relaxing riverfront dining and indoor shopping. Situated along the bank of the St. Johns river in the heart of downtown Jacksonville, at 2 Independent Drive, it is a great place to spend a day and a convenient place to begin your vacation adventures.



Building was completed and the Landing was opened for business on June 25, 1987and was one of several festival marketplaces designed and built by the Rouse Company. There is just over 120,000 sq-ft of floor space in this 9-acre pavilion. The Landing is a great place to plan your exercise regimen and a beautiful place to carry it out. The Riverwalk provides ample walking area during clement weather and the walkways inside the mall are perfect for those not-so-perfect weather days.

On the first floor inside the Landing you will find a Jacksonville Visitor Center. They have Internet access to the latest coupons, discounts and hotel packages for events in the Northeastern Florida region; as well as savings on and scheduling of local events and entertainment. Be sure to pick up a copy of the Jacksonville Visitor Magazine.

While inside there are some great shopping spots such as The Toy Factory with their unusual gift selection for kids of all ages; the Art of Hope Gallery where Tony Ryals, crippled since birth, displays his finished artistic creations while working on new artwork, pen or brush in mouth. W omen's apparel can be found at The Body Shop, footwear galore at Nine West, and sports memorabilia and fashion wear at Sports Mania. For a bit of self-indulgence there is Lee's Nails for all your nail care needs, Gold's Gym has the best view to be had at a gym, and The Landing Bookstore and Newsstand offers publisher's overstock at 50 to 80 percent off.

To appease your hunger after a rigorous day of shopping try one of the restaurants or stop by the food court and relax to the sound of the St John river ebbing by. From fine dinning to casual, deli-styled eateries to fast food there is something to please anyone's palate. There are two nightclubs providing live music and drink specials regularly for your evening enjoyment.

Outside on the Riverwalk is the Landing Courtyard with a center stage for weekend performances by local bands and over 350 yearly events from Gator Bowl celebrations to the annual Christmas tree lighting and the Independence Day extravaganza to the local Last Band Standing competition With aver 1,000 feet of dock space available there is plenty of room for a really great time at the Landing.
