On June 25th 2009 the world mourned the death of Micheal Jackson one of the greatest humanitarian figure of the early 21st century. Throughout his life Micheal became an international pop icon who did so much to unify the world. The greatest achievement of Micheal was his unique talent which he tuned into music. His songs quickly built unique barriers of love between the whites and blacks not only in America but throughout out the world. When Micheal started his career, American was just starting to recover from a devastating inhuman practice, RACIAL SEGREGATION.With Micheal and his wonderful songs the memory of the past especially racial segregation became just objects of the past.I have never met Micheal Jackson in person but I will rather treasure the way he proof to the world that he cares. His memories would be of how he care for others and he felt the difficulties of the disadvantaged and those whom without people like him, life would have been difficult. The memories of the 'KING OF POP' will never fade away from the minds of millions around the world.
Micheal released his single song ''WE ARE THE WORLD" by then I was in High school and I remember when all the students were given a copy of the lyrics as an attempt for all the students to be able to sing the song off head. The words in that lyrics alone could change the mind of any young man into being a caring person. That was the main reason why the lyrics to that song was distributed among us as a symbol of caring for others.I still have the copy of the Lyrics of ''WE ARE THE WORLD" that is one of the memories of this international superstar I will remember forever. Micheal Jackson was America's true gift to the world and perhaps one of the best ambassadors for the Unite States.Being an African myself I would say we Africans benefited from Micheal than any other continent. The fund gathered from that concert "WE ARE THEY WORLD" made change to the life of millions in Africa. It has also healed thousands who were suffering from HIV. Today I personally would say "Thank You Micheal " Until the day we join you were all mystery are banished and where peace and joy ever more abides. Until every one becomes just like the man in the mirror.Until every one black or white stand and look at himselfor herself in the mirror and made a change just like how Micheal wanted the world to think we say fare well brother.Your are gone too soon but not too far and your memory will continue as long as the human society.
Micheal our companion ,brother and greatest entertainer of all times may your soul rest in peace Amen
