It's a common scenario...you rush to the gym through traffic and when you arrive, you're greeted by the usual unwanted stares, the loud music that doesn't always suit your taste and a greedy gym goer squatted on your last machine of the night. Ahhh the joys of working out at a gym! If none of the above appeals to you, then maybe you're better suited to a home routine that gives you all the power over your workout and the convenience of working out whenever you want without having to get in the car or put on a new tracksuit.  It really is possible to get a body to adore without leaving the front door!

Why Wait For Your Weights?

Weight training is essential in building muscle mass to increase strength and boost your metabolism. It is effective in any weight loss or weight maintenance program and keeps the body fit and healthy at any age. Weight training also helps to prevent loss of bone density as women get older, and reduces the risk of osteoporosis. However, you don't need a gym membership to enjoy the benefits of weight training in your very own home. That means no more time spent waiting for the next available machine which only wastes time, and as it goes....time is money.

Save Money

Money can buy you the tools essential for a better body, but a gym membership can't buy you privacy, or avoid the guy who likes standing behind you as you do squats. You can have an at-home gym at a fraction of the cost of a gym membership, and with rising gas prices, why waste gas driving to the gym when you can stay in and get all the benefits without having to fill up. Gym memberships are costly, when in reality many women only use a fraction of the facility for their individual needs. Contrary to popular belief, you don't need fancy equipment or bulky machinery to enjoy all the benefits of a strength training routine at home. All you need are a few essentials to get a home gym that doesn't waste space, and doesn't require you to spend a week's pay for the body you desire.

Weight Training Essentials

Weight training at home is possible with a few basic pieces of equipment which are the first step to fitness success. Dumbells are definitely an exercise essential that are inexpensive, readily available and easy to use. Beginner weight trainers should stick with lighter weights of about one to two pounds before gradually increasing to five and ten pound weights as their fitness level improves with time. Resistance bands are another easy to find fitness essential
