The best vacation ideas

by Gabrielle Schrader

Created on: July 07, 2009

The best vacation ideas are the ones that leave you and your family satisfied. The ideas that have a little bit of something for everyone. For my family and I, talking about the best vacation ideas was much easier than actually deciding on one.

When we sat down to discuss our vacation ideas, we came up with many. They all sounded like fun but everyone leaned a bit towards a different idea. The best way that we could think of, to discuss the differences involved going through a process. We decided to ask everyone what their main requirement was for the vacation and see if we could find an idea that fit all of them. With this said, I'd like to show you a few of our options. See what you think of my family's best vacation ideas.

1) California

Unlike Florida, it is not only hot in California but also humidity-free. The heat doesn't feel so bad because of this and it actually feels good. Those interested in tans can still get them (though I prefer to not to get skin cancer or large ugly moles) and there is SO much to do! There are the beaches of course, mountains if you drive far north, shopping, historic locations, national parks and nearly anything else you can think of. If you want to do it, you're likely to find it in California.

2) Tennesse

I've always felt like I was born in the wrong state and really at heart, was a Tennessean. I believe that you might find you feel this way too after a visit to either Nashville, Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. The people are so friendly and everything is laid-back. It's beautiful with all of the mountains. If you are into country music, you'll find yourself in a heaven made for you. If you don't like country, head to Nashville. They have a lot of other music as well as country. They are labeled as "Music City" after all. I believe that you'll find something for everyone is this beautiful place.

3) Vermont

Although I've never been to Vermont, I know some people who have been. I've heard rave reviews of the majestic beauty of the forests and the way the state looks in the fall. I've also heard that the winter is filled with wonderful snow sports. You can ski, snowboard, etc. I don't know what else is there but I do know that there are a lot of small, cute towns throughout the place. You'll most likely love the time you spend in Vermont.

Lastly, I hope that you take into consideration my family's best vacation ideas as well as incorporate some of your own. If you are not traveling with family, no worries. Friends or alone, these places still hold all of their charms and beauty. Whatever you do, make sure that you have fun!
