The Mega Man Legends series ended on a cliffhanger and is something that should have a conclusion. Ending in suspense is something that quite honestly can be a bit annoying especially in the middle of a story without a conclusion as to what truly happened. Mega Man Trigger seemed to be trapped and it looked to be like the Master System was reawakening and it became a question as to what happened.
Mega Man Legends 3 could actually be used as an item to put the series to rest. There has not been a series with the entire Mega Man series other than perhaps Mega Man Zero and maybe even Mega Man Battle Network having some type of conclusion to lead to the next series. In the Mega Man Zero series case, it would be the ZX and for Battle Network, it would be the Star Force series.
If nothing else, it would be used as a good idea to find out what truly happened to Mega Man and how he got off the Moon. It would be something to really find and also a case of learning more about what truly happened to him in the past. In fact, the plot could be involving him stopping the old system possibly facing off with a major boss or even the machine itself. Looking even further into it, he could retain some of his old abilities from the previous game and even upgrade to stronger weapons.
During this time, he would learn a bit more about who he was in the past and what was indeed his true role. Data of course has the information but it could be used as a story to discover on his own. Wouldn't that be an interesting plot along the way? Upon further review, there could be some scenes with Roll and Tron Bonne attempting to build a rocket ship.
If the game did well and did not have a conclusion, then perhaps it can continue but at the very least, just get one for the sake of conclusion. How much fun is it to watch a movie you like without a sequel to follow what happened provided it actually makes sense and is good? It is no fun at all and can be rather frustrating.
It does not have to be a CD but more of a downloadable game that can be created for each of the consoles. It can be available on the Xbox Live, WiiWare, and the PlayStation Network at a reasonable rate. Seeing the success of Mega Man 9 and how well it did, there is no reason to think that it cannot be done. As a matter of fact, it would actually be interesting to see how it would come about. If Mega Man 9 can be released after many years following Mega Man 8, then there is no reason to think that a Mega Man Legends 3 would be out of the question.
