<Dark Thoughts>

Dark thoughts engulf my mind

Infusing my blood with tears

My chaos has eaten completely

Any hope built up over the years

These thoughts are now potent poison

Unsweetened with honeyed wine

My soul which was once in mourning

Is now no longer mine

Dark thoughts have now overtaken me

My spirit is no longer alive

And a feeling of dread embraces my heart

Fearing that I can no longer survive

These thoughts rape me nightly

I will never break its chains

It has claimed me in every aspect

Not an ounce of my former self remains

Dark Thoughts have interceded

The way I live each day

What I would not give, in order to live

And make the darkness go away

These thoughts are so disturbing

So vile, wrong, not me

I doubt I shall see the sun again

From my cell in the moonlit sea

Dark thoughts have left me confused

Where ignorance is in high demand

The more I know and learn

The less I understand

These thoughts have left me alone, bewildered

Utterly abandoned by fate

I am lost in a world bereft of comfort

A hell that my thoughts helped create

Dark thoughts have left me shaken

My foundation has been beaten and sore

I have new perceptions of everything

I will never be as before
