Video game characters: Rozalin from Disgaea 2

When she first appears, Rozalin seems like a stuck up, spoiled, demanding princess who gets everything she wants from her father. And while she may be demanding and stuck up, there is one thing she lacks from the great Overlord Zenon: presence.

Rozalin is one of the stars of Disgaea 2. She appears in the first chapter as Adell's mother is attempting to summon Overlord Zenon for Adell to fight, his defeat supposedly freeing Veldime from its demonic curse. The summoning appears to backfire, however, and Rozalin appears instead. Learning she can't be sent back to her manor, Rozalin demands Adell take her home. She also scoffs at the idea that he might be capable of defeating Zenon.

As they travel and fight together, Rozalin initially plans along with her froggish servant Tink to do away with Adell; however she eventually comes to hold a gruding respect for him, especially after he learns that she's never met her father. They decide to work in tandem, as Adell's attempts to locate Zenon will also lead Rozalin to her father.

Zenon himself seems aghast at the idea of Rozalin missing, and sends out his two right hand servants to track her down, though she eventually comes to him willing during a tournament. The meeting is short lived, however, as Zenon is pursued by Etna and driven into hiding. Rozalin, still desperate to properly meet her father, continues to travel with the group; however they are stopped by Laharl, who seeks to retake Etna as his vassal. Rozalin flashes her four leaf clover insignia, the sign that she's the daughter of the Overlord, and in a display of bravado Laharl attacks and shatters the insignia.

Doing so reveals that it is also a seal of sorts, and Rozalin's normal personality is hidden by one insisting that it is a "being of solitude". It trounces Laharl easily despite his power and sends him packing, and Rozalin only returns to her old self after some prodding from Adell. At the end of the game, once the team has invaded Zenon's castle, it's revealed that Rozalin is the reincarnation of Zenon, and the impostor was simply a rival looking to keep Zenon in thrall. Rozalin then loses her will to Zenon again, and she kills the fake Zenon. Confronted with the party, however, she constantly insists on solitude, and it takes a kiss from Adell to bring Rozalin back from Zenon's grasp.

What happens to Rozalin after that point is unknown, though given her near constant presence alongside Adell in other games it can be assumed they remain together in some capacity. Her other appearances are all secret cameos, usually requiring the player to beat her in a fight and occasionally recruiting her and Adell into their team. In combat Rozalin does best with ranged weapons, and is almost always depicted with a small pistol in hand.
