You broke my faith, you stole my heart
My innocence you tore apart
You ruined my love, you stole my trust
All because of one nights lust
Now who am I they might ask
Truth is I live behind a mask
I am wise beyond my years
Knowledge filled with groping fears
You took my ignorance, you twisted my youth
You stole my beliefs and tossed me the truth
Life is not the blissful dream that I saw
You made sure you left me with a flaw
Now I am ruined for life and what I dreamt to be
Your disregard took happiness away from me
I live now only for what could have been
I love now only what I have once seen
I am what I was, but will never be again
I am what you left of me, broken and sore
I would like to wipe you out of my past
So I could be what I was before

My twenty eighth birthday shaking hands with a past
I'd just as soon forget.
Today
