Poetry: Hope

LITTLE CHILDREN

Our little children

laugh

talk

and smile at our funnies

smurfing

as they mimic Michael Jackson

and do the moonwalk

rolling over with joy

some with cabbage patch kids

and Barbie dolls cuddled snugly

Today we share their happiness

knowing

we were children once

we also try to remember

how much of us

are in each of them.
