Poetry: Ending a relationship

by Conner Good

Created on: July 06, 2009

"Magnificent"

I built you up to be so good

and then the moment passes.

I feel nothing.

What happened to the laughs and tears?

The smiles and cheers?

I hate that now I feel nothing.

Neutral and fighting it.

I want to be more-

-to feel more.

But I am held back.

A force that hurts

stabs

bleeds

in a place that I did not know existed.

No other word but odd

(at this time)

can explain the silence.

I feel left out.

I feel ignored.

I feel our unspoken promises have been broken.

So certain.

It's cracked.

So certain.

It will fall.

So certain.

It will soon be over.
