How to furnish a great room

How to furnish a great room? Furnishing a great room can be challenging and rewarding not only about its beauty but also about its comfort. I've decorate several great rooms, and believe me, I always tried to get comfortable heavy furniture, a pleasant view of the outside, and making certain it accommodates all of the items that will be used in there, i.e., DVD's, play games, size of television, etc.

What I normally did when I furnished a great room, was to be sure and keep a scenic view available from different setting positions, because the outdoors always needs to be brought into a room from some point. Next, I chose the proper color paint if the area had dry- walls, and if it was a paneling and I didn't like it, I would have it removed and go for a lighter paneling or have it dry-walled and paint it in soothing likable colors of choice. Dark paneling in any room can cause it to be dark and depressing shutting out the lighting is bad, and I don't know about you readers, but I like plenty of light and a feeling of openness. This allows a person to feel the room is airy and brings life into the room.

Next, choose blinds that can be easily opened and closed, this will enable you to be able to open the room to bring in the outside and give you and visitors a feeling of having both the inside and outside. I won't normally put drapes in a great room because they now have a selection of beautiful colorful blinds to accentuate your chosen paint or panel colors. Drapes close the room in too much and turn your beautiful room into a dark room. If you like a drapes, choose a nice stripped valance with a color of the paneling or paint. This can add beauty to your room if you like drapes.

Next, select the type of furniture in the fabric or leather that you like and also choose your carpet colors at this same time to coordinate with the colors. Select well-constructed heavy furniture with a material or leather that will withstand lots of weighs and use. Sit in the furniture to ensure that it is easy to get up from because many seniors and handicapped people will have a hard time getting up from a sofa. Also don't over furnish the room because you'll get that cramped feeling, and no-one likes to set in a room that they feel caged in.

Next, select your accessories, i.e., large ceramic pieces, flowers, etc., (this is what adds most to your room, select a piece or two as conversations pieces) by bringing out your colors in the room; select the correct places for your lamps and lighting (this means a lot in a room) and add a nice area rug of good quality that will pull it all together in colors in your room.
