Medical researchers seem certain that HIV causes AIDS

Dr. Robert Gallo on April 23, 1984 announced in press conferences that he had found the "probable cause of AIDS," before he had published his findings in a peer-reviewed journal. The HIV retrovirus, as it came to be called, was different from every other retrovirus studied by public health organizations. This retrovirus could do what all others could not, destroy human cells.

Dr. Gallo failed to explain how the retrovirus did this, and how it differed from other retroviruses. He did not have the evidence to say for certain that HIV causes AIDS. On April 24, the New York Times announced that Gallo, absent any peer review, had found "the virus that causes AIDS." The surety of media consensus quickly triumphed over Gallo's lack of scientific proof.

We may think it strange at this late date, and with decades of research on the topic, to suggest that medical researchers only seem to be certain of HIV causing AIDS. This is however appropriate since the Western medical system was hijacked by disease profiteers before Gallo was born. Pharmaceuticals, researchers, and private and state run bureaucracies have a vested interest in disease, especially incurable diseases with costly treatments.

Now, imagine we're back to the start of the Iraq War, perhaps a month beforehand. Imagine you are a general who has just publicly stated that you are 100% certain Saddam has no secret caches of WMD, basing your certainty on UNSCOM teams and high-level defectors. What would happen to you? Easy, you would be black-balled, your name besmirched, your professional life ruined, not by the Bush administration but by the consensus. This is what has happened to every medical researcher that went against the consensus on HIV being the cause of AIDS, and there have been several.

Try to argue the case from a scientific perspective, even on a site like Helium, and your article will be censored, mine was twice. The charges follow:

1. "Your sources are out of date." The only sources not out of date of course are the ones performed today, but beyond this. In an environment where any scientist suggesting other causes for AIDS besides HIV gets black-balled, it will be hard to find sources period. Currently research money is only being directed to scientists who study HIV. In other words, the cause must be assumed before the study can take place.

2. "AIDS-deniers are out of touch with the medical community." First, the straw man name. There may be some "AIDS deniers" out there, but medical researchers
