taught him the words by which to do so. Allah forgave Adam and Hawwa' and told them "Get ye down all from here; and if, as is sure, there comes to you Guidance from me, whosoever follows My guidance, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (Qur'an 2:38)." Iblis will try to influence as many of their descendants as he possibly could into sin, so as to be his companions in his final destiny into Hell.(The encyclopedia)
Shaitan as an accuser till eternity:
So you can see that with time how shaitan proved to be an accuser step by step there was a time when shaitan was an angel too but as soon as he defied Allah he was thrown from his status of Angelhood and became an accuser because he revolted against God because he considered himself superior. He was made to pay for his defiance against Allah from the rank of being the head of the Angels to an accuser.
If we look at the human behavior closely it will show how wonder able man is that as (to the above reference) if Adam and Eve did not believe the shaitan then this world would not have been created as a punishment for Adam and Eve and they would never be sent down from the heaven down to this world, to protect themselves from the convincing nature of shaitan through out our lives and prove our belief in Allah.
But then again this brings up a new question in ones mind that what if there was no shaitan? What effect would it have on our life styles?
Well, according to me there would be no spice left in life because strangely so everyone being a man/woman would never stand on cross roads whether to follow the legal and lawful teachings of God or whether to listen to what the Shaitan says. There would be no difference left between the right and wrong, no existence of hell and heaven.
Coming to the last question popping in my mind that as we all know that God is oft- forgiving and merciful (Rehman and Rahim) as his name says he could have easily if he wanted to forgive the revolt of the shaitan and the disobedience of Adam and Eve but this is not what happened and the only answer that comes in my mind is that what Allah clearly says in the Holy Koran what I know you do not know. (Not sure of the name of the surah).
