Why celebrities shouldn't be on the news

Celebrities have such a huge impact on society especially the younger generation. When you read the newspaper or watch the television, you do not normally read or see of the great things they have achieved. The journalists and paparazzi only cover positive news about a celebrity on a small scale so we are not seeing there true identity. Is it the journalists fault these areas are not covered more or is it society? The answer is probably society, they as a job and business are going to cover what sells. If it is all the negative aspects of a celebrities life that sells more then this is what is going to be splashed about the newspapers and all across the television. Although we all love a good story and a good gossip about our celebrities, the main reason for them to have negative press in the public eye is probably so we can see that although they have all this fame and fortune they are still real people.

Some of the celebrities probably love all the attention this gives them negative press or not. The majority of celebrities will probably feel that the paparazzi invade there own personal privacy. Everyone is entitled to this, if you want to run about with your children in the garden, you should be able to without someone peering through the bushes to get that one photo. It is quite understandable how it can tip some people over the edge, constantly being watched so everyone can see that one embarrassing moment, for it to be discussed as though it is some sort of amazing and important news. Is there not more important things going on in the world that people should be reading about?

The impact all this negative press has on society is quite frankly a very scary thought. People look up to celebrities and for some they try to live like they do, along with look like, dress like, act like and even eat like a celebrity. Surely this is unhealthy for any person, for the celebrity to be copied to such an extent and for the people who choose to be a celebrity copycat.

Slimming to get your body down to a size zero which is very dangerous anyway but to do it because that is the new in size, that is the size the celebrities are. Not only is it a dangerous weight to be, the health issues which go along with this perception of immaculate beauty, the health risks and not to mention the psychological impact.

The same as the negative press over celebrity drug abuse. Teenagers out there see this splashed across the television and newspapers and being vulnerable anyway, think it is cool to copy. Without realising the dangerous side effects these drugs have on people, not only themselves but there families also. Celebrities should not be all across the news as they can have such a negative impact on society. People should be able to be comfortable within themselves and not constantly compare themselves to others, especially the negativity of the people they admire.
