Stress. It's something that everyone has in their life in one way or another. In today's changing and ever-demanding workplace the stress levels can sometimes be at unbearable levels. Hopefully, I can help you find some ways to keep your stress level as low as possible.
The first thing that I find is helpful is make sure you leave any work issues at work. Once the workday is over, that should be it for work. If possible, if you had a really stressful day at work, it might be best to talk about it and let some of that stress out, but don't dwell on it too much. Find something else to do to get your mind of work. Go for a long drive, relax, take a walk or listen to some smooth music. Any of those options can lower your stress levels consistently.
If it's stress dealing with your personal life, talk to your friends and family about what the issues are. You will find that will lessen the problem. If you still find yourself stressed, get away from the issue that is making you stressed.
Keep things in perspective. Remember that whatever problem you might have, there's almost certainly somebody out there that has it a lot worse than you do. Just be thankful that you are in the position that you are in if you have a high-paying job. And if you do have that type of job, the stress will be something that goes along with it. It is unfortunate and a bit unfair, but that is how it is.
With any job, there will be peaks and valleys with your stress level. Ultimately, success in your career will be somewhat determined by how you can manage your stress level. Not everything is in your control and not everything is your fault. I think during times of stress, you should remember that it is most usually temporary. And if the stress continues to be at a damaging level at your position, it might to time to consider changing jobs. Your job is important, but in my view, it is not worth ruining your life over.
If you are feeling what you term as an unfair level of stress, you really should talk to a supervisor or boss about it. Hopefully, they will be understanding about your situation and help in lessening it. If you are a supervisor, definitely consider talking about your situation with your employees so they are not caught off-guard. Also, hopefully you can keep your emotions in check as well. the last thing you want to do is lose it, especially against somebody who didn't deserve it.
