To heal is to cure somebody or something of ailment, to restore a person's body or injury back to health. To heal and help the recovery of a person spiritually, physically and emotionally. Practitioners who go into the field of healing whether that be medical practitioners or alternative therapy practitioners, do so because they care about people and want to make a difference to a persons life and help them to heal. To help them understand their symptoms and diagnosis this does not necessarily mean a medical diagnosis and treatment in which will be the most beneficial to their body and well being.
The main principle of healing is to treat the body and person as a whole taking into account every aspect of discomfort, from the emotional and spiritual effects, right the way though to the physical effects this discomfort has on the body. Treating the body as a whole will allow the healing process to work on every aspect of dis-ease.
No one person is the same therefore no one feeling or emotion is the same. Everyone experiences symptoms along with the emotional and spiritual effects of these symptoms and dis-ease differently. It is an important principle of healing to ensure each person is treated for their own individual need, treating the whole of that person not just the problem area, as the dis-ease within the body or mind will have effects on the whole well being of the person. The spiritual, emotional and physical aspects of the body will all play a part in the outcome, ensuring all these factors are treated will help to boost all of the healing factors of the dis-ease, allowing the body to become harmonised once again.
Another principle of healing is the practitioner should always work to the best of their ability with their clients' needs always in mind, referring the client to the appropriate practitioner when necessary. Ensuring the client is in full awareness of their treatment, explaining why a particular treatment is the most beneficial for them. Explaining what will happen during a treatment and any after effects which they may feel. Helping a person understand their condition takes the fear out of it allowing them to own their condition along with there symptoms.
Treating others with the respect is another principle of healing, keeping a client's confidentiality. Treating others how you would like to be treated not only shows you are a good trustworthy practitioner. It also allows you to build a good report with the client enabling them to tell you of their whole symptoms not only the ones which present themselves physically. This will allow the client to be treated as a whole and not just the area of discomfort.
