Yes, America got what it wanted.

America elected Obama for "change." A complete overhaul. A massive shake-up from the previous administration.

Obama has delivered what has been asked of him. He has fundamentally changed the office of the president from the Bush administration. Obama is using the White House website to open up the government and make it easier for people to see what the government is doing.

Obama was elected to reform the government in a progressive manner, in contrast with the failed policy of the Bush administration. The government must respond to the people, and there is a collective desire and a wide consensus that health care reform is necessary. Even Wal-Mart, a previously staunch opponent of reform, now agrees that the current health care system is not working. Obama is working to overhaul a very inefficient health care system that millions of Americans want changed, and the Republicans in opposition have not presented an idea that would insure all Americans.

In the area of foreign policy, Obama is doing everything the people want and have asked of him. Handed a mishandled and unpopular War in Iraq, Obama has set a withdrawal date to bring US troops back home and hand over Iraq to Iraqi forces, ending US involvement. People want to end the War in Iraq and leave in victory, and Obama has a plan to achieve both objectives. In dealing with Middle Eastern threats, Obama has used different rheotoric to try to earn the respect and trust of Arab nations. It is clear that George W. Bush's harsh no-talking-to-dictators style did not work, and it only created more hatred for the US around the world. Bush's message got lost in transition and did not create peace in the Middle East. Obama is reaching out to Arab nations in the hope of making allies that will stick with the US well into the future, creating a more peaceful world.

Many members of the GOP have complained that Obama has created a massive expansion in the role of government, but the people elected Obama with the intention that the government would have to act to solve the many problems facing the US. Imagine someone drowning in a pool. What is one to do? Someone has to interfere and save the person in crisis. With US businesses facing immediate peril, Obama moved swiftly to keep them afloat. Chrysler would have been liquidated if it were not for the bailouts. Liquidation of Chrysler would have resulted in the loss of 38,500 jobs to an already fragile economy. After the Bear Sterns
