Short stories: Life after death

Two Souls Forever Eternally Intertwined

It is cold and damp. The cobwebs of her home have grown older. The colors of a once vibrant home have faded to a grey and dull atmosphere. It has been years since she has had a visitor and the outside world has become none existent. But she does not understand. She is consumed by her reality and her reality is hell.

She does not realize that he has been searching for her. For centuries, he has traveled through dimensions to find her. Searching in the hope that he will be able to keep his word to her. It was an oath he made so many years ago. But it is not just a memory. It has become his destiny.

It was a tender night when he held her in his arms and said those words to her. She snuggled in deeper inside of his arms. They shared a moment that few will never know. It was a moment that sealed their fate. Together for eternity, and if not they would find each other once more. Whatever the cost.

She has forgotten the oath they made to each other. Her reality is the pain she feels. The loneliness. She could not bear to live without him. She is consumed by the pain of losing him. The moment he died is the moment her world turned dark. A dark musty world with the stank of desperation.

It was that very moment when he was reborn he learned his fate. To be welcomed in the heavens a gift he gratefully received. He had never felt such warmth within his soul. But the connection was still there. Their love remained strong. So strong that the very moment she died from a broken heart, he felt it through the heart of his soul.

His journey began without hesitation. Not looking back from the safest of havens, he stepped out into the nothingness. The nothingness between dimensions. The dimensions between Heaven and Hell. A place where time stands still. A land of limbo consumed of wormholes that lead into alternate realities. An eternity of realms caught within space in between spaces. It is a place where no angel should dwell.

She does not know he is searching for her. It is her fate to relive that moment of pain, as if a broken record had never been turned off inside her heart and mind. The moment he slipped out of her arms and went into a reality far different from her own. It is the feelings of desperation, the longing, the eternal need of love that fuels her hell. A hell she was given the moment she gave up her own life. Without him she could not survive.

The moment had come, through hells fire he had searched. Facing all the pain and suffering
