Like a River

You and I are like a river

brought forth from the source

From the darkness, into the light

Pure and innocent, we begin a journey that never ends

We each follow our own way

At times our waters flow quiet & deep with little to impede us

In others we find great obstacles blocking our way,

Using strength that flows within our soul,

We persevere and like a river, overcome all that stands before us

There will be falls on our journey that is to be sure,

It is in our falls that we find the beauty in all that we are becoming,

Our souls reflected by deep pools of wisdom that receive us

In the mists our spirits transcend, rising above, to find a love for all that is

This love giving us strength, to continue ever onward

Over our course, our waters touched by all that which we have flowed is colored with experience,

This is as it is meant to be,

Our waters now carrying the richness of a life well lived into the depths of the eternal ocean of one

This however is not the end, for like a river we are part of a timeless cycle

Forever present, always changing, our destiny to rise once again,

Beginning a journey that never ends.
