Poetry: Politicians

RAISE TAXES

When people are struggling

Their bills they are juggling

When credit scores are muddling

We'll just raise taxes

When private industry is down

And Wall Street is bound

By shady money hounds

We'll just raise taxes

When people lose their homes

As banks double the rates on their loans

Into the streets they will roam

We'll just raise taxes

Do politicians really care

If what they're doing is fair

They can hide in their mistresses lairs

And we'll just raise taxes

Businessmen they are not

They seem to have forgot

The budget is shot

So we have to raise taxes

Our homes they will screen

Because they want us to go green

Cooperate or they could place a lien

And we'll surely raise taxes

Some are too big too fail

For them the government will bail

But for us we'll just go to jail

If we don't pay our taxes...
