Of course, the US will exist as a country in 100 years. The US has a lot going in its favor in the key areas of infrastructure, principles, and defense. These areas are vital to existence of a country, and the US is a leader in all these areas.
The US has a foundation that gives it a great advantage well into the future. The US has developed it's infrastructure throughout the period of industrialization. This infrastructure, like roads and homes, is a foundation that will allow the US to maintain a high standard of living. Developing nations like China face issues in areas like housing that will cause difficulties in rising to and staying a world power. Also, poverty is not as big of a factor in the US as for other countries, hurting the advancement of other countries.
In the future, the US will still have it's allure and principles. The US draws immigrants from all over the world. These immigrants strive to reach the land of opportunity and achieve the "American Dream". This idea of the "American Dream" still resonates around the world. Furthermore, the people of America have the Puritan work ethic and can fight through adversity. The US wins wars and rides out recessions. This has kept America's spirit strong. Who's to say that the US can't overcome the challenges of the future?
The US has technology and defense unmatched in the world. The US can hold its own and protect itself from the enemy and will not be taken over under any circumstances. Plus, the US has two oceans protecting it on either side. The future of the world depends on technology, and that is where the US excels. The US has an education system in place for everyone. That, combined with the higher education in the US, has nurtured the greatest minds in technology and science. Great American minds invented the personal computer, the internet, and more. Who knows what vital technology American minds will think of in the next 100 years? New technology will fight global warming and make factories more efficient and automated. US technology will take on global challenges. The US exports it's ideas and will be a worldwide leader for years to come.
We live in a very different time in history than any time before. Previous world powers and empires were brought down by disease or catastrophes. There is a significantly less chance of mass disease. Medicine has advanced itself to prevent any colossal outbreak. Mass warfare is possible, but the US can isolate itself from the world when it wants to.
The role and standing of the US may change, but the US will survive and persevere as a country.
