Poetry: Happy sounds

by Louise Wulfe

Created on: July 03, 2009   Last Updated: July 08, 2009

The evening call of the train

As it rattles down the tracks.

A wise, old owl's voice

Screeching through the night.

The calming song of the wolf

Howling at the full moon.

Thunder shattering night-time's solace

While rain pelts the window pane.

The happy sound of friendly voices

Emanating from houses all around.

A hawk's fearless warning

Echoing through the canyon.

These are the sounds

That comfort my soul.
