Washington, D.C., is a popular tourist attraction and can be fun for anybody. It is easy to make the most out of your trip here because there are so many things to experience, see, and do!
First you will need to pick a hotel to stay at during your trip. Washington, D.C. has many great hotels to stay at that are within a short driving distance to the landmarks and memorials.
The best (though one of the more expensive) hotel to stay at would be the Ritz-Carlton in Pentagon City. This luxury hotel is five minutes from the National Airport and only minutes away from Washington, D.C. With many hotel amenities like boutique shopping, bowling, children's activities, pools, saunas, jacuzzis, water skiing, and more, this would be the dream hotel to stay in during your trip to Washington, D.C. Check-in time is 3:00 P.M. and check-out time is 12:00 P.M. Prices depend on when, how long, and how many people are staying.
If you are looking for a budget hotel or simply something cheaper, there are still many options! Hotels like Capitol Skyline Hotel and Channel Inn are great picks for both business trips or vacation! The Capitol Skyline Hotel is located in downtown Washington, D.C., and offers a unique experience. Check-in times for the Capitol Skyline Hotel is 4:00 P.M. and check-out is 12:00 P.M. The Channel Inn, another good pick, is located seven blocks from the National Mall. The Channel Inn's check-in time is 2:00 P.M. and check-out is 12:00 P.M.
After you book a hotel, it's time to plan your Washington, D.C., trip! Where will you want to go and how will you get there? Of course you can drive, take a bus, or go on a tour service. Decide on where you want to go and what you want to see. No trip to Washington, D.C., is complete without visiting the memorials and landmarks. Most things you will want to visit are free.
The Lincoln Memorial, one of the most popular memorials, is great to visit. This monument overlooks the Washington Monument, the U.S. Capitol, and the Reflecting Pool. Inside, the 16th president sits 19 feet high with inscriptions of his Second Inaugural Address and the Gettysburg Address on either side of him. It is completely free to visit and is open daily except for December 25. A park ranger is in attendance from 8:00 A.M. to midnight.
