Ill Universe
The universe lay in vast decay
Its planets and suns in disarray.
What time it was, we cannot tell,
For no one knew or rang the bell.
The toll was not to be as thus
And no one's left to make a fuss.
We now are gone and life is through.
We are not here 'tis true, 'tis true.
Our strength we often did display,
Until the making of this day
When once more men began to boast
And then they all did man their post.
And life did fade until at last
With one last breathe we took our gasp.
And now the living Earth is free
From mans disease of hate and greed.
This place we once did call our home,
Is now happy with others free to roam.
It was foretold that life would be
Fulfilled and whole and wild indeed.
If one element was taken out
And mankind was the one in doubt
The wholeness of our former Earth
Is now complete, come play our dearth.
For we are not the source of life
But ended here in our great strife
To see our nature vast, reborn
Was by we ourselves both shred and torn
Until Earth Mother said to us:
Goodbye my Child, return to dust
For you shall serve me best of all
And help to grow the trees so tall.
You, in the ground your place shall be,
Shall see your soul in eternity.
So thus we are no longer here,
We are a part of the great and near.
We lie in depths of ground and sea
And compliment each entity.
As Mother Nature had said before
She will open wide the door.
So we may see the future torn
The child whose life is still unborn.
Can yet call out and recollect
The joy of life that we may set.
To the tune of wholeness and of grace
We savor our journey through this place.
Until we make these steps seem real
We have no right to seek appeal.
For into Earth we all must go
Until we can by our actions show
That we, the ones who truly care
Can show by actions we are there
On Earth our planet yet to be
Filled with balance and serenity.
We say Yes to things we know will be
To wrought the chain of simplicity.
For as we are on basic-mode
We plan and join to share the load,
As life is seen in wholeness now
It is our turn to take a bow.
For once we did defend our need
It turned to selfishness and greed.
But now we know what's safe and sane
Is best for all on this earthly plane.
We are the future that is our plea
For each of us not only me.
But all of us is what we need
To reinvent and plant the seed.
Not just for food, but commonwealth.
Not just for gain but also health.
We are the ones who see and act
Before the land is newly attacked,
Not just by guns or labor laws
But by those who do not see the flaws
Of those who did or do not care
All will be lost, so be aware
Of how you are in words that share
This new insight with loving care.
Did you not know that man can't live
Within this world as it now is?
We must, us all, both you and me
Bring change to hearts so we may see
That each of us may have a life
In freedom from the fear and strife
The answer now for us to see
Is to love our self, Yes, you and me.
