No one would argue, at least I have not heard the argument that man is not the most dominating species on the planet. Granted, I have seen the article about the monkey in the zoo that likes to gather rocks when the zoo is closed and then throw them at people when the zoo is open. Many people champion such behavior as proof that monkeys can plan the same as people. That is as brilliant a realization as the Psychologists who have recently discovered that men and women are (dare I say it) different. Birds plan when they gather straw and other such items, I saw where one kind of bird began to gather hangers because they were in abundance and straw was not- so the fact that animals plan is no surprise to me. You get a monkey mad and he is liable to do all kinds of things. A friend of mine was once teasing a monkey at the zoo and he got peed on, I have no doubt that the monkey knew what he was doing. But, our discussion about God and the animal world, our debating such things back and forth only proves the existence of not only God, but the God of the Bible.
In Genesis chapter two we are told that God made man in His image. So many seem to think that our being in God's image is physical, a body with a head, hands, feet and a spirit- well to think that is completely false. Jesus tells the woman at the well in John chapter four that God is Spirit and should be worshipped in spirit, and so we are not at all talking about a God confined to physical elements. Some will say that the Bible talks about the ears of God, or the hands of God, but man has no choice but to write that way, for how else can you describe something that you know is taking place but no words exist to describe it. The Universe is so large that we have not yet began to see all of it, and yet the Bible tells us that it fits in the palm of God's hand. Does that mean that God is this huge giant? No, it means that God is Spirit and that He is Omnipresent (everywhere at once), and that we as humans cannot even begin to comprehend how God knows every detail about the Universe- so the author writes that the Universe in the hand of God. It is this God that we are created in the image of.
The God who is Spirit, the God who creates, thinks, feels, reasons, and so much more, created you and I to do very much the same things. What separates you and I from the monkey that throws rocks at people is that we can write a letter to the zoo-keeper asking that certain demands be met or we will
