How to beat the Haunting 101 level in Ghost Master (PC)

Ghost Master is a bit weird when you think about it. You have elements of The Sims in the game due to the characters going about their business and talking in 'simlish'. Then you have the ghosts who you control whose sole purpose is to scare the living daylights out of the poor people.

When you start the game and undertake the level the first level, you only have a few haunters to choose from. You get more as you progress through the game and complete various objectives.

The ghosts available at the start:

You have two sprites available. A gremlin called Cogiammer and a horde ghost called Clatterclaws. Cogiammer basically uses electrical sources to scare the mortals and Clatterclaws is a spider ghost using swarms of spiders to scare them.

You also have two ghosts that fall under the disturbances category. One is a spook called Boo and the other is a poltergeist called Whirlweird. Whirlweird cannot be used though in this level due to there being a lack of suitable objects to tie the ghost to. This'll be explained in the level walkthrough.

There are other ghosts available, but click the recommended button. Four ghosts will be put into your team and they are Cogiammer, Clatterclaws, Boo and Shivers. Use them for this level. You can always come back to the level at a later date and try different combinations of ghosts.

So, go ahead and click the go haunt button.

How to beat the level:

You're assigned to haunt a Sorority House and the mortals that inhabit the area will obviously be pretty easy to scare witless.

Now then, seeing as this is the first level, there's a tutorial but you don't really need to listen to it. You can turn it off by clicking on the box icon at the bottom left of your screen and then selecting options, then unchecking the Haunting 101 tutorial box. Then press accept.

Now then, look to the right and you'll see some portraits of characters. They represent the mortals in the level. You need to scare them. By hovering the mouse over them, you'll see a few details about them. Left click on one and you can follow them as well as see their bio. To clear the menu, click outside of the menu that pops up.

To your left are the available haunters for the level. The bottom four boxes represent ghosts that you can acquire. Left click on one of the ghosts (let's say Boo) and then the bind option. His fetter is inside, so that means he can be tied to rooms that are indoors. The available spots you can bind a ghost to will have a green outline. Press the down arrow on the screen towards the bottom left so that you view the ground level of the house and select the living room to bind Boo in.

Your ghost should have now appeared yet he won't be attempting to scare the people. You have to click the ghost portrait and then powers. It's perhaps best to choose the bottom choice which is rattle chains, then as you get more plasm, work your way up to the better powers. Then just carry on placing ghosts and scaring the mortals until they all flee.

However, there is one other thing to know. There's a ghost for you to free north of the front door. Click on her and listen to what she says. You'll find she's stuck where she is due to the vacuum so get Cogiammer and bind him to the stereo where the trapped ghost is and choose his most costly power. Then she'll be free and you'll be able to use her on this level and in future ones.
