Halloween can be a lot of fun for you and your children. Going out for trick-or-treating is an experience that they will never forget. Throwing a Halloween party for your children and their friends will make the holiday seem above and beyond for your child. To make of the party a night of fun, you have to think creatively. Don't simply give them a color book and have them color Halloween picture. Make the party something to remember and get the parents involved with the games. Have plenty of prizes for all kids for all the games. You don't want any child to go home empty handed.

There are many Halloween games that are great for children. I have chosen some of my personal favorites and will explain in detail how to play them. You can add your own twist and rules. These are really to give you ideas and get you started with planning some games.

If your having your party at your home, a great game is "Magic Carpet". All you need is a blanket, blindfolds, and a couple rooms in your home that can name as destinations. You bring the kids around to every "destination" and then bring them to an open area like a living room. All the children put on their blindfolds and one child lays down on the middle of the blanket. Then, two parents pick up the ends of the blanket creating a cradle. Then, keeping safety in mind, swing them back and forth saying, "We are about to go on a magic carpet ride. Are you ready?" Once they answer you, take them to one of the "destinations" and put down the kid in the blanket and say, "Can you guess your destination?" If they get it right, then they get the prize. If they don't, they go back with the rest of the group to try again. The ones that get it right can walk with the traveler and say the phrases. They are told to be quiet when the other travelers guess, but they usually can't hold back their giggles in anticipation. Clues about the room can also be given to test their memory of the room. It's a fun game, but remember to be safe and maybe have the dads carrying the kids.

Another fun game is called "Can you hear a Ghost"? This is another game that will make your children giggle with anticipation. All you need is the blindfolds and an open room. One of the parents is designated as the ghost. The kids spread out evenly throughout the room and are told to stand absolutely still and listen for the ghost behind them. The ghost walks around the room and stands behind a child and counts to ten to themselves. If they say "is there a ghost
