Dew is the earth's tears,
Shed in remembrance of the day.
Shed in longing for the light,
For the warmth to stay just a little longer.
As night comes and light disappears,
The earth weeps.
Its tears cling to the leaves like tiny beads.
The moon comes and reveals the tears,
Turning them into orbs of cold, white light.
The earth longs for warmth,
For the hot yellow face,
For the sun to return,
But it must wait.
Until that moment, it weeps.
The earth cries on,
Its tears sit on the grass,
Waiting,
Waiting through this silent sobbing.
The earth longs to be warm.
It remembers the sun as it cries.
The darkness fades,
The sky turns gray,
The earth smiles.
The sun has come to burn away its tears
And warm it once again.

Lay down your sequined dress
let the early morning sunshine, bless

I woke before the sun
When the earth was still damp
from morning dew.
The sky was still dark,
And the air was cool and crisp.

The rising sun
Comes into view
Glistens upon
Fresh morning dew
Damp on the lawn

Walking slowly through a field
Lavender, lilies, lilacs and clover
All of them covered with mist
….and the clouds
