Manga reviews: Caramel Milk Tea

"Caramel Milk Tea" is quite the interesting type of romance drama manga. I have recently started to get into romantic dramas as of late. As a fan of dramas that take place in bakeries and coffee shops, I decided to read Caramel Milk Tea. In a sense, it makes me think of this Korean drama series called "First Shop of the Coffee Prince" and this Japanese anime series called "Antique Bakery."

If you are into romance stories, you may find Caramel Milk Tea interesting. It is possibly one of the most decent romance stories that I had ever come across so far.

Storyline: A

So far, the storyline of Caramel Milk Tea was quite interesting. The storyline of Caramel Milk Tea is character driven rather than plot driven. In short, the characters drive the story instead of the plotline doing the thing.

So far, Caramel Milk Tea is a series of romantic one-shots revolving around a couple coming together. The first one-shot focuses on a girl named Nozomi and a waiter named Sasaki. She asks out Sasaki, who immediately rejects her. Soon, Nozomi takes a job at the same caf.

She learns that Sasaki constantly gets harassed by girls wanting his affections. Those girls even resort to stalking him on a nightly basis. Sasaki and Nozomi start bonding over some caramel milk tea.

Another one-shot focuses on high school sophomores Eri and Shirou. The two were childhood friends. Upon meeting once again, the two of them start to romantically bond with each other.

Overall, the one-shots were very beautifully done for the most part.

Characters: A

The characters of Caramel Milk Tea were well done and down to earth. From what I have read and seen, the characters are realistic and very much convincing for the most part. It made the feel of Caramel Milk Tea very authentic and genuine.

The portrayal had very much shown the humanity of the characters.

Illustrations: A

I have to say that the illustrations were nicely done. So far, it seemed to do well in giving the feel of what Caramel Milk Tea tends to present. I would have to say that the illustrations and designs were great. The facial expressions were authentic and nicely done as well.

Overall: A

Caramel Milk Tea has that overall casual and relaxing down to earth tone when it comes to romance. The way the romantic one-shots were portrayed was nicely done for the most part. Perhaps this is one of the things that made Caramel Milk Tea quite appealing to me. If you are into romance stories, Caramel Milk Tea may be something you may want to check out.
