Ah, New Year's Eve. A time of merriment, whimsical fun, and non-stop partying! Well, that's how most people view New Year's anyway, and so precautions must be taken to ensure that nothing bad happens. All the time, people have gotten drunk, gotten into fights, and just plain gone crazy. It's like all the rules are broken with the coming of a new year, the way people treat it. However, this isn't the case, so if you care enough, follow some of these tips on partying safely on New Year's.

Refrain from too much alcohol consumption

This is a big problem around New Year's Eve. Everyone wants to go out drinking, which of course lead to many other bad decisions throughout the night, well into the morning. So, to avoid disasters and catastrophes, I suggest to cut back on alcohol intake. I know New Year's is such a big deal, but that doesn't mean you have to get totally wasted. Limit yourself, and you'll find that your morning will be a much more enjoyable one.

Key Jug

If you're hosting a party at your house or a friend's, it would be a good idea to get a jug for people's car keys. Once you get everyone's, you decide when they're fit enough to drive to wherever they want to go. After a night of drinking and partying, the risks of crashes are sure to escalate. With the key jug, you can ensure that no one that went to your party caused any problems out on the streets. Sounds simple and unneeded, but just wait; you'll realize how much it's needed.

Keep dangerous objects out of reach

Believe it or not, people get crazy around New Year's. In the midst of wild partying, people could do stupid things, things they wouldn't do normally. More often than not, this involves pointy objects, and can be quite dangerous. To combat this, I suggest hiding everything that could be deadly to yourself or any people you'll be partying with. Of course, you won't be able to get rid of everything, but at least you'll lessen the chance that something could happen.

Keep a clear head

Even if one isn't drinking, they still believe all bets are off when New Year's Eve rolls around. And as such, they'll try to do stupid things, believing there won't be consequences. Speeding, trespassing, failing to obey the regular rules. All will land you in big trouble, even if it is new year's. So don't go celebrating New Year's Eve on government or private property either, or face the consequences. If you stick to those precautions, you should have a great celebration!
