The most versatile styles are often those that have been around for some time. Classic styles remain timeless for a reason. Often they are based on simple hair styles that can be easily modified to look great on a variety of people.
Versatile Hairstyles and Haircuts
1. The Bob Cut
A classic bob cut is a short style where the hair is cut to one length that falls somewhere between the ears and chin. The hair in the back may be short enough that it is shaved at the nape of the neck. A graduated bob is cut shorter in the back and angles forward toward the front. This style is also known as a Posh Bob, or Pob, because Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) recently sported the style.
2. The Page Boy
A page boy cut is practically the same style as a bob cut, however the length is longer falling below the chin and possibly all the way to the shoulders. It is a classic look that still has the ability to be arranged in different styles. It works well with many face types and is often easy to style.
3. The Shag Cut
The Shag is a common hairstyle for both men and women. The Beatles wore shag hairstyles and Friend's character, Rachel Green, famously popularized a long shag look in the 1990s. A shag haircut is usually above the shoulders, but can be worn in a variety of lengths. It is easy to customize a shag cut to emphasize a person's best facial features.
4. Classic Long Hair
The classic long hair style has hair that falls in one long length all around, although it may also have long layers or some long tapered lengths around the face. Long hair can be styled in many different ways from day to day. Classic long hair styles can be worn by men or women and will never go out of style.
5. Crop or Pixie Cut
A very short style for women is known as the crop or pixie cut. Hair is cut close to the scalp all over, leaving lengths that are less than two inches long. The difference between a crop or pixie cut is in the method used to cut the hair. A crop cut usually has an edgier, chunkier look and is cut with a razor. A pixie style is scissor cut and has a softer look.
When searching for a new look, consider some of these classic, versatile hairstyles.
